We are the makers of the best hummus in New York. Our hummus is home made. We take pride in our authentic, delicious hummus and other Middle-Eastern dishes. Based on the flavors and recipes we discovered in the Middle East, we provide great hummus, msabaha and s'hug (hot sauce), just as they are served in the Middle East.
We use fine ingredients from Lebanon, Israel and Palestine.
We sell our hummus right after we make it, while it's still warm. That's really the only way to eat hummus and we suggest you eat it right away.
The best way to get your hummus is to join our mailing list. We will let you know when we cook and where you can pick it up. If the pick up locations don't work for you, let us know and we'll work something out.
If you need hummus for a party or an event, let us know ahead of time so we can prepare. Chickpeas need to be soaked overnight and we want to get you the freshest hummus we can.
We care for the environment. That's why we sell our hummus in reusable, microwave-safe bowls. We ask that you return them next time you buy.
We are a small business, and our delivery and supply options are limited. We ask for your patience and understanding.
Hummus was too creamy? Msabaha too spicy? Share it with us. Yes, you can also tell us how great it was. In fact, we'd really appreciate it.
How long will it last in the fridge?
We don't encourage refirgirating our hummus and msabaha. Flavors change after refrigeration and degrade the quality of our products. However, if you don't eat it right away and need to keep your hummus in the fridge, it can last for about five days.
I keep trying to schedule a drop off, but you're not able to accommodate. What's the deal?
Brooklyn Hummus is a small operation. In fact, everywhere on this web site where we say "we", we actually mean "me". Brooklyn Hummus is currently a one man show. We appreciate your patience and will try to get you the good stuff when we can. Just keep trying.
I scheduled a pick up location with you, but you haven't shown up. Why is that and what should I do?
We deliver by train. We send a message when we're heading out. But as a New Yorker you probably know that trains are sometimes unreliable. If we are too late and you can't wait any longer, please send us a message letting us know you won't be showing up. If we find ourselves waiting for you for too long, we'll do the same.
I'm throwing a party and would like to order a big tub of hummus. Do you do that kind of thing?
Absolutely. Please contact us for details about our Party Pack.
